Brazil: New "investor form" to access the Brazilian market
a new version of the “investor form” is available that contains a section to enable foreign investors to provide the taxpayer identification number (Numero de Identificacao Fiscal – NIF) of the beneficial owner in its country of residence.
Note: Customers of Clearstream Banking1 who want to access the Brazilian market are required to complete and submit an investor form.
With the new version, the customer no longer needs to provide the NIF in a separate MT599 free-format message, as the new investor form contains this information.
Customers are reminded that this requirement is entailed in Normative instruction IN 1,297/2012 issued in October 2012 by the Brazilian Revenue Service (Receita Federal do Brasil – RFB) to enforce tax evasion supervision on a global level2.
The new version of the “investor form” is included in the latest Creation Link Guide (Brazil), where the procedure to open an account is also explained.
