Indonesian government considers single time zone

Under a government initiative called the GMT+8 Program, the Indonesian government is looking at the possibility of merging Indonesia’s three different time zones into one (GMT+8).
The plan is still in its initial stage and may require prior approvals from Parliament. Further details, including any tentative implementation date, are not yet available.
