International: CC&G to extend its CCP service to EuroMOT, ExtraMOT and Hi-MTF markets

Starting from Trade Date

28 October 20131

Cassa di Compensazione e Garanzia (CC&G) will activate its central counterparty (CCP) service to bonds settling in International Central Securities Depositories (ICSDs) for the trading platforms (retail markets) EuroMOT, ExtraMOT and Hi-MTF.

This is further to our Announcement A13121, dated 12 August 2013, having received further information from CC&G.

Note: For details of which trades are guaranteed, customers of Clearstream Banking2 should refer to the notices issued by the retail markets and the CCP.

The service activation with regard to the EuroTLX bond market will be communicated at a later date.

Impact on customers

Customers trading on EuroMOT, ExtraMOT or Hi-MTF who are Clearing Members of CC&G or Settlement Agents of Clearing Members of CC&G are kindly requested to provide us with a new Power of Attorney (PoA) in favour of CC&G.

Customers should please contact their Relationship Officer to obtain the requisite document.

To ensure that settlement instructions sent by CC&G will be accepted on customers’ accounts, a PoA must be provided, at the latest, by the start of the above trades guaranteed by CC&G for the relevant trading platform.

Customers active on more than one platform need only provide one PoA to CC&G.

Important note

The above relates to trades guaranteed by CC&G in relation to the above-mentioned trading platforms only and does not affect the requirement of a valid power of attorney with respect to any other trades subject of the "Settlement of transactions executed on trading platforms: power of attorney services" of Clearstream Banking. The PoAs previously given by customers for the relevant trading platforms remain applicable, as CC&G does not offer a guaranteed service on all the instruments traded on these markets.
