Import function: New instruction type "Twin Instruction"

Clearstream Banking1 informs customers that a new instruction type "Twin Instruction" has been available since

19 November 2012.

Since 30 April 2012, customers can transmit CASCADE-RS instructions via email with a file attachment in Excel or CSV format to Clearstream Banking (cf. CBF Announcement RS12088 of 25 May 2012).

Until now, the CASCADE-RS instruction types

Re-registration(processing type 1) and
Position transfer(processing type 9)

could be transmitted via the import function.

Since 19 November 2012, transmission is also possible via

Twin Instruction(processing type 5).

To use this processing type, the respective instruction is to be entered in the Excel or CSV file with the indicator "5" in the "Processing type" field. CASCADE-RS generates one re-registration and one position transfer from each of these instructions.

As a result, for example, shareholders can be registered in the share register before annual general meetings to receive invitations to the annual general meeting and to exercise their voting rights. Unregistered positions can be created again on the date designated in the instruction. The advantage of the Twin Instruction is that it makes it easier to instruct the position transfer.

Settlement Day in a Twin Instruction

If the "Settlement Day" is included in the Excel or CSV file, it will be used for the position transfer. The receipt date of the Twin Instruction is used as the re-registration date of the re-registration to be carried out.

If no "Settlement Day" is provided, both re-registrations and position transfers are carried out with the settlement day or re-registration date corresponding to the receipt date.
