Banking licences in accordance with EU legislation

Clearstream Banking S.A. (CBL), Clearstream Banking AG (CBF) as well as Clearstream Fund Centre S.A. (CFCL) hold banking licences which are issued by the banking regulatory bodies in Germany and Luxembourg. The licences for CBL, CBF and CFCL can be found by following the links below to the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) and the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin).

On 21 January 2020, CBF received a licence pursuant to Art. 16 CSDR (core and non-banking type ancillary services).

On 24 August 2021, CBF received a licence pursuant to Art. 54 CSDR (banking services).

On 12 April 2021, CBL received a licence pursuant to Art. 16 CSDR (core and non-banking type ancillary services), Art. 54 CSDR (banking services) and an interoperable link (“Bridge”).

Banking licence in accordance with Japanese legislation

Clearstream Banking S.A. Japan Branch holds a banking licence which is issued by the banking regulatory body in Japan, the Financial Services Agency (Money Supervision). The company received the licence pursuant to Article 52-2 (1) of the Japanese Banking Act on 28 January 2022. Please see below for information on the licence holder:
