Business Continuity Management – Systems Unavailability test date


It is Clearstream’s philosophy to constantly improve products and services. This also applies to the Business Continuity Management programme. As part of this programme, we will again be offering customers the possibility to participate in our Business Continuity Management (BCM) test planned for

Saturday, 2 October 2021

On that day, we shall simulate the unavailability of one of Clearstream’s production data centres. During the course of the test, Clearstream systems will be run in contingency mode, which will apply also to the real time settlement period. Customers will have the opportunity to participate in the test between 13:00 and 15:00 (CEST) to validate their connectivity and processing.

All data input during the test will be processed. Normal processing will resume with the real time settlement period starting at 21:05 (CEST) Sunday, 3 October 2021.

In view of the circumstances of the test, all timings quoted here can only be approximate.

  • Any instruction received as from this point will be processed in the real time settlement period running on Saturday.

  • Shut down and isolate completely the designated “Disaster” data centre, that is, only one data centre (“Remaining” data centre) is active during the open BCM test window.

Remaining data centre


  • Applications will run in the remaining location.
  • Open window to test connectivity with the remaining location.
  • Open window to receive customers’ instructions to be processed in the remaining location within the real time settlement period (value date 04.10.21).
  • Customers can extract the reports.

  • End of Test.
  • Data centres switch back to normal configuration with no further access for the rest of the day.
