Turkey: Delay with processing Tax ID applications and renewals of Certificate of Tax Residence


Clearstream Banking informs customers, that due to the COVID 19 situation, the Turkish tax authorities are currently facing some delays processing new Tax ID applications and the renewal of Certificate of Tax Residence (COTR) renewals.

Customers are therefore informed that the above will be processed as follows:

Registration of an existing Tax ID

Customers can continue to send a request for registering an existing Tax ID to Clearstream. Applications will be processed in line with current procedure.

Application for a new Tax ID or renewal of a Certificate of Tax Residence (COTR)

Customers can continue to request an application for a new Tax ID or renewal of a COTR from Clearstream Banking in order for us to review and confirm the validity of the documents.

However, due to processing delays with the Turkish tax authorities, such applications can only be completed at an unspecified time.
