Poland: Proposed exemption from withholding tax on T-bills and T-bonds

On 28 June 2022, The Ministry of Finance published a draft of amendments to the Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Personal Income Tax (PIT).

If the proposals are approved, effective 1 January 2023 foreign investors will benefit from an exemption from withholding tax on interest and redemption of all Polish T-bills and T-bonds with no condition linked to maturity date, admission to trading nor issuance date as it is currently the case for T-bonds.

The draft is subject to further legislative proceeding and possible changes.

We continue to monitor the Polish market and will provide further information as it becomes available.
