Clearstream: New account numbering format

Starting late November 2015, Clearstream Banking1 will gradually introduce a new account numbering format, to be applied to all new Creation accounts (including CFF-FIA and 6-series accounts) only. The existing account numbers will remain the same.

The new account numbering format, comprising of 5 alpha-numerical characters, will slowly replace the current 5-digit account format. The new account numbering format will start with at least one digit followed by letters.

Impact on customers

Customers should ensure that their systems will accept account numbers in both formats: numerical and alpha-numerical characters.
