Xact Web Portal: Additional biometric authentication factor and decommissioning of smartcards - Update

Clearstream Banking1 informs customers that effective

19 November 2022

a third factor for user authentication on the Xact Web Portal will be added as part of the continuous effort to strengthen the IT security of the application.

The third factor will be a token generated by the Forgerock mobile authenticator app.

Customers will have the option to configure their Organisation Unit to use the new authenticator app or continue to work as today.

The app can be protected by the user through the biometric capabilities of the mobile device, for example FaceID or Fingerprint, and can handle several different user accounts within one app.

It is available in the Apple App Store and in the Google Play Store.

At the same time Clearstream Banking will decommission the use of smartcards and the related software and replace it with the mandatory mobile authenticator app.

All Xact Web Portal Organisation Units configured today with smartcards will be able to switch to the new authenticator app as of 19 November 2022

The support of smartcards will then be phased out in the following weeks.
