CBL's Securities lending and borrowing and triparty collateral services
All Swiss debt securities eligible in CBL qualify for CBL’s securities lending and borrowing programme.
Equities and warrants are not eligible for CBL’s securities lending and borrowing programme.
Multi-Market securities service
Multi-market securities where the home and remote markets are both in T2S will no longer be identified with a Remote Common Code. As such, the Place of Safekeeping should no longer be used. Cross-CSD instructions between two In-CSDs are identified in T2S when the CSD of the instructing party and that of its counterparty are different.
Only a limited number of remote countries are available for the settlement of multi-market securities. For further information, please refer to the Multi-Market Securities Guide.
There is no capital gains tax withheld through Clearstream Banking on Italian securities traded at the Swiss Stock Exchange and held in Clearstream Banking. These securities are subject to the “regime ordinario” (the ordinary or declarative regime), whereby the beneficial owner declares gains in an annual Italian tax return and pays due tax directly to the Italian Tax Authorities. As a consequence, Clearstream customers are responsible for ensuring that all final beneficial owners are eligible for exemption from tax on capital gains and for keeping adequate documentation available for eventual enquiries by the Italian Tax Authorities. Clearstream Banking accepts no responsibility in case of non-compliance with the eligibility criteria. Please consult your tax advisor for further information.
Foreign exchange services for CHF and USD are automatically available to customers. To complete foreign exchange conversions for CHF or USD, customers should contact CBL’s Treasury Desk directly by an authenticated communications medium.
