Rize chooses Clearstream’s ICSDplus issuance model for ETFs

20.02.2020

With Rize ETF, a new issuer of exchange traded funds has entered the European market, specialising in thematic investing. For the issuance of its first two ETFs tracking the themes of medical cannabis and cybersecurity, Rize ETF has chosen the Clearstream’s ICSDplus model.

The Rize Medical Cannabis and Life Sciences UCITS ETF - USD Accumulating offers investors access to the performance of companies in the medical cannabis, hemp and CBD, and agri-tech and services sectors. The Rize Cybersecurity and Data Privacy UCITS ETF - USD Accumulating offers investors access to the performance of companies that protect governments, companies and individuals against cyber-attacks.

The ICSDplus model is one of Clearstream’s solutions for ETF issuance tailored to different needs of ETF issuers and services ETFs issued within the pan-European settlement platform TARGET2-Securities (T2S) and outside of T2S. By using this model, issuers can leverage direct setup and connectivity at Cleastream Banking S.A., facilitating efficient issuance, trading and post-trade activity. Centralisation of securities within the ICSD market reduces costs and post-trade fragmentation.
