Clearstream1 informs clients of several enhancements to its existing Foreign Exchange (FX) services effective
Monday, 30 November 2026
This update aims to further improve the services and reporting capabilities for clients.
Swift MT300 Foreign Exchange Confirmations for eligible FX transactions
The MT300 Foreign Exchange Confirmations will provide subscribed clients with comprehensive economic and settlement details of FX transactions processed through the applicable FX services. Clearstream will send MT300 messages to clients in its capacity as an FX service provider.
The MT300 Foreign Exchange Confirmations will include the following transaction details:
- Trade date;
- Value date;
- Exchange rate;
- Currency and amount bought;
- Currency and amount sold.
The MT300 Foreign Exchange Confirmations will be generated in scheduled batches following the completion of the applicable client fixing cycle.
How to subscribe
Clients can subscribe as follows:
In Xact Web Portal, navigate to Reporting & Monitoring > Manage Report Subscriptions and select report type “MT300 - Foreign Exchange Execution Confirmations”.
The MT300 - Foreign Exchange Execution Confirmations will be delivered to the Swift address configured for the relevant report subscription.
Multiple intraday execution cycles for client FX transactions
Currently, client FX instructions are executed in a single daily batch. As a part of the enhanced service, Clearstream will introduce multiple execution cycles throughout the business day to better accommodate APAC and Americas time zones.
Instructions will be executed across scheduled intraday windows, enabling faster cash provisioning and reducing exposure to market volatility. Client FX instructions will be executed in the earliest possible cycle.
The new multi-execution schedule will be described in the Client Handbook.
Impact on clients
The enhancements will apply automatically to all clients using the FX services. No action is required from clients.
Automatic FX service for securities settlement: Automatic cancellations
Clearstream will enhance the Automatic FX service for securities settlement by introducing automatic cancellations of the corresponding Auto FX instruction when the underlying securities settlement instruction is cancelled before the applicable FX deadline.
When an underlying securities settlement instruction is successfully cancelled, the corresponding Auto FX for Securities Settlement instruction will also be cancelled automatically, provided that the Auto FX for Securities Settlement has not yet been executed.
Under these circumstances, clients will no longer need to send a separate Swift cancellation message for the corresponding Auto FX for Securities Settlement instruction.
Automatic cancellation will trigger when all of the following conditions are met:
- The underlying securities settlement instruction has triggered an Auto FX instruction;
- The underlying securities settlement instruction is successfully cancelled; and
- The corresponding Auto FX instruction has not yet become irrevocable.
Impact on clients
The new service will be available to all clients subscribed to the Automatic FX service for securities settlement.
Automatic FX service for securities settlement: Subscription fine-tuning
Clients can customise their subscription to the Automatic FX service for securities settlement as follows:
- Activation date: Clients newly subscribing to the Automatic FX service for securities settlement will be able to select the activation date of the service.
- Value date filter: Clients will be able to define the eligible value dates for Auto FX processing.
These enhancements provide clients with greater control over the activation timing and processing of Auto FX transactions.
Impact on clients
By default, all securities settlement instructions without an applied filter will be in scope for the Automatic FX service for securities settlement.
Clients already subscribed to the service can amend their current setup by submitting the revised “Application Form Automatic Foreign Exchange Service”, which will be published on the Clearstream website in due course.
