Xact Web Portal: Digitisation of tax reclaim services

the following services will be available in the Xact Web Portal under Tax, Tax Refund, Create function:

1. Tax Reclaim: E-Submission markets, starting with Germany
2. Tax Reclaim: Manual submission markets, pre-advice of filing

Impact on clients

Tax Reclaim: E-Submission markets, starting with Germany

Clients will be able to request a tax reclaim and upload all supporting documents in Xact Web Portal, ensuring a secure single electronic submission process.

There are two options to start the process

1. Use an existing tax document: The income and beneficial owner information will be prefilled on the Tax Reclaim Request
2. New request: The client will provide the income and beneficial owner information to file the Tax Reclaim Request

Either option will then require clients to upload the files, listed in Announcements C25027 and D25025 to the reclaim request.

Tax Reclaim: Manual submission markets, pre-advice of filing

Clients will be able to pre-advise Clearstream of manual reclaim requests via Xact Web Portal, ensuring that the requests are electronically captured, recorded and can be tracked.

Clients will then be able to track reclaims in Xact Web Portal using their reference; this includes when Clearstream receives the manual package, validation and Tax Authority submission.

The manual package is required to contain the Clearstream envelope ID or the client’s reference to facilitate matching.
