Clearstream1 informs clients that effective 

14 November 2026

all ISO 20022 CBPR+ messages (except for camt.052, camt.053, camt.054, camt.060, admi.024 and camt.025) will require the use of hybrid or fully structured address formats for postal address information within Party and Agent elements. 

The use of unstructured (free-text) address formats will no longer be permitted.

Background 

These requirements apply to all connectivity channels, including: 

  • Xact Web Portal;
  • Xact via Swift; 
  • Xact File Transfer; 
  • Any other channels used by clients to initiate CBPR+ messages to Clearstream.

Clients must also ensure they can receive and process messages from Clearstream containing hybrid and fully structured address formats. 

Impact on clients

Accepted address formats

 Clearstream will support the following formats: 

1. Fully structured address 

  • Address elements provided in separate fields (for example, Street, Post Code, Town/City, Country).

2. Hybrid address 

  • Mandatory Structured elements: 
    • Town/City; 
    • Country; 
  • Plus, up to two unstructured address lines (max. 70 characters each). 

Key requirements 

  • Town/City and Country must be provided as separate structured elements for all relevant parties and agents. 
  • Messages containing only unstructured address data may be rejected.

Client actions 

Clients are requested to: 

  • Review and enrich address data to ensure completeness. 
  • Update systems and message formats across all channels to support structured or hybrid addresses.
  • Ensure capability to send and receive ISO 20022 messages with the new address formats. 
  • Achieve full compliance by the effective date.
