Clearstream1 will support the relevant changes introduced by the Swift Release 2026 for ISO 20022 General Meetings messages effective
14 November 2026.
Clients using General Meetings messages should review the upcoming changes and assess any potential impact on their internal systems, interfaces, message processing workflows and operational procedures.

The release introduces several enhancements aimed at improving message standardisation, data quality and interoperability across the securities industry. Clearstream's implementation will ensure continued compatibility with the evolving Swift ISO 20022 standards and support seamless communication throughout the General Meetings event lifecycle.
The changes will apply to General Meetings messaging exchanged through the ISO 20022 message standards and will be reflected in Clearstream’s processing as of the effective date.
ISO CR1489 - Beneficial Owner Email for Virtual Meeting Participation
Clearstream will support the VIRT participation method as of 14 November 2026. If provided by the source in the Meeting Notification (seev.001), the VIRT participation method and the AttndeeEmailReqrdInd indicator will be supported by Clearstream.
Client impact: If the indicator AttndeeEmailReqrdInd in the seev.001 message is set to TRUE, the email address in Rights Holder Legal or Natural Person sequence becomes mandatory in the corresponding seev.004 message. If an email address is required but not provided, the instruction will be rejected with rejection code NACD.
Markets: All markets where the VIRT participation method is supported.
ISO CR1511 - Additional Disclosure Requirements
Clearstream will process the new field /MtgNtfctn/Vote/AddtlDsclsrRqrmnts if received from the source. Any required disclosure information will be enriched by Clearstream and provided to the custodian on behalf of clients (seev.004). Clients will be informed of the disclosure requirements through the narrative (AddtlInf).
Client impact: No action required by clients. The information requested in meeting notification through “Additional Disclosure Requirements” will be enriched by Clearstream when submitting instructions to the custodian.
Markets: Primarily Eurobonds, however, support may be extended to other markets using this field.
ISO CR1512 - Investor Classification data in Meeting Notifications and Instructions
Clearstream will support the new seev.001 component “Investor Type Identification”. Investor Type Identification values will be forwarded to clients in the outbound meeting notification message as received from the source. Multiple investor classifications may apply.
Client impact: If an Investor Type Identification is included in a seev.004 message, it must correspond to one of the Investor Type Identification values provided in the related seev.001 message. Any mismatch may cause the instruction to fail validation and being rejected with the reason code MINC (Missing Investor Classification Details), requiring correction before processing.
Markets: Eurobonds.
ISO CR1490 - Entitlement Fixing Date to Instructions
ISO CR1511 - Rights Holder Account Identification (Last Intermediary)
Clearstream will support the new Entitlement Fixing Date and Rights Holder Account Identification (Last Intermediary) components in seev.004 messages.
Client impact: The requirement to provide Entitlement Fixing Date and Rights Holder Account Identification at the last intermediary level applies to German bearer shares that meet the following criteria: (1) German ISIN; (2) no registration market deadline is provided in the seev.001 message; and (3) the seev.001 COH indicator is set to “Yes”. For these instruments, Clearstream will validate the Entitlement Fixing Date if provided in the client's instruction or enrich the custodian instruction with Entitlement Fixing Date as provided in the seev.001 message.
The Rights Holder Account Identification will be forwarded by Clearstream as received. Provision of this information is at the client's discretion. Where no Rights Holder Account Identification is provided, Clearstream will nevertheless process the instruction, however, clients should note that the instruction may be rejected by the market due to the missing information.
Markets: Currently Germany only (bearer shares).
ISO CR1479 – Amendment of Definitions in General Meeting Voting Instructions
The definitions of vote instruction fields in seev.004 and seev.007 will be updated to refer to the quantity of securities rather than voting rights. The related MyStandards template changes will be delivered as part of the SR2026 Swift Release migration.
