Register market
All funds in Mauritius, whether a collective investment scheme or a close ended fund, are regulated by the Financial Services Commission.
Mutual/open ended funds are set up as collective investment scheme in Mauritius.
Private equity funds are usually set up as close ended funds in Mauritius but can also be set up as a collective investment scheme.
There are also self-managed schemes in Mauritius which can be set up as both a collective investment scheme or a close ended fund.
A close ended fund will be structured as a private company limited by shares or as a limited partnership, whilst a collective investment scheme will be commonly structured as a public or private company, a unit trust or a protected cell company.

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)
Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are not permitted and cannot be traded within the Mauritius market.
