Market specifics

As of 08 December 2025, Euronext Securities Athens has adopted Market Claims for OTC transactions on the Greek market to enhance compliance with the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 1229/2018(Settlement Discipline Regulation – SDR) and to align with the European Central Bank (ECB)’s market standards, including T2S.

Under this service, market claims and reverse market claims are created as separate settlement instructions without amending the underlying transaction. These claim instructions are linked to the original transaction and cannot settle before the completion of settlement of the underlying transaction. If the underlying transaction is cancelled before the related claim is settled, the related claim instruction is also cancelled.

For tax purposes, market claims on securities that are eligible for settlement in the books of the Euronext Securities Athens S.A. are treated as a price adjustment of the underlying transaction. The price adjustment corresponds to the gross value of the product resulting from corporate action. In the case of equities, this may result in either a refund of sales tax for a market claim or additional tax due for a reverse market claim.
