Japan: JGBs, corporate and municipal bonds - registration of Consent Letters in the Clearstream Banking Tax certification application

Clearstream Banking¹ informs customers that, effective

16 July 2018

all Consent Letters for the Japanese government bond (JGB) Book-entry System operated by Bank of Japan and all Consent Letters for Securities managed under the Business Regulations on the Book-Entry System for Stocks and Corporate Bonds will be registered in the Clearstream Banking Tax certification application separately from Application Forms.

Background

Application Forms and their Consent Letters are registered together in our Tax certification application but only the Application Form is visible to customers.

This process will be changed and all Consent Letters will be registered separately so that they will be visible too.

Impact on customers

All Consent Letters received by Clearstream Banking after 16 July 2018 will be registered in our Tax certification application and will be allocated a specific reference number that customers can use to view the Consent Letters via CreationOnline and Xact Web Portal.

Our standard fees for processing tax certificates are applicable.
