Spain: Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) – New developments for Basque Country and Navarra – Update

Clearstream Banking1 informs clients that the FTT is now incorporated in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country and Navarra and that effective as from

1 January 2024

Taxable persons shall pay the FTT to the tax offices of the provincial councils (Vizcaya, Alava, Gipuzkoa and Navarra) and to the tax office of the common territory in proportion of the volume of transactions carried out in each territory during the tax settlement period, regardless of their tax domicile.

Impact on clients

The field 67 "IT1DNIFEMI" of the ITF001 format will become mandatory. 

Further information regarding the reporting template and reporting timeline under the new process will be published as soon as available. 

The current template available under Spain: Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) is effective until further notice.
