The Greek Ministry of Finance published Circular 1145/16.05.2014 on 16 May 2014 to completely revoke Circular 1117/25.04.14 that aimed to clarify the practical method for the application of tax on gains derived by non-resident beneficial owners from Greek Government bonds and Corporate bonds.

The Ministry of Finance clarified that the new Circular is applicable until further notice and no further additional clarification is expected in relation to Corporate Bonds and to the method for the tax calculation.

This is further to our announcement A14063, dated 5 May 2014.

We continue to monitor the market and will inform our customers as soon as further information becomes available.
