Further to our Announcements1 regarding the abolition, by the Swedish government, of dividend withholding tax for Swedish and certain foreign investment funds, we hereby provide this latest information.

Our local depository is currently in contact with the Swedish Tax Authorities in order to finalise the operational details of the procedure required for the implementation of the abolition, which is expected to be on the 1 January 2012.

As stated, the abolition will affect dividend withholding tax for Swedish investment funds and certain foreign investment funds qualifying as “funds-undertakings” domiciled in the European Economic Area (EEA) or in a country with which Sweden has entered into a double taxation agreement that contains an exchange of information clause.

We continue, with our local depository, to monitor the situation with regard to the implementation of this abolition and will provide further information as it becomes available.
