Colombia: Dividends – new draft decree issued
On 21 June 2019, the Colombian Ministry of Finance issued a draft decree to clarify the tax treatment on dividends paid on profits generated from January 2017 to December 2018 according to the tax Law 1943 of 2018.
This draft decree is being analysed by our local representative, BNP Paribas Securities Services, who made some comments that will be addressed through the Association of Trusts in order to clarify some statements impacting the tax processing, particularly the tax refunds.
We continue to monitor the Colombian market for new developments and will provide more information as it becomes available.
