Argentina – proposal to extend the 7% dividend withholding tax rate
The Argentinian Chamber of Deputies recently approved a new bill that extends the 7% dividend withholding tax rate to profits accrued from tax year 2021 onward.
Initially, as announced in A20008 of 23 January 2020, the 7 percent tax rate was limited to the profits realised in 2019 and 2020 and was supposed to increase to 13% for profits accrued during the subsequent tax years.
The bill must still be approved by the Senate and be officially published as a Law to become effective.
