U.S.A.: IRS launches new online tool to validate 1042-S data prior to filing with the IRS

The IRS has announced on 15 November 2021 the launch of a new tool enabling withholding agents to perform a data quality review before their submission of IRS Form 1042-S to the IRS and the publication of a tutorial on how to use the tool.
The use of the tool is not mandatory, but the IRS will take into account a withholding agent's use of the tool when making enforcement and penalty determinations.
