Clearstream Banking1 informs customers that, in order to enhance reporting for ASLplus and ASL principal borrowers, effective

2 May 2022

“Common Reference” is added to all market instructions generated in relation to ASLplus and ASL principal.

As a consequence, “Common Reference” is part of MT54x Settlement Confirmation Messages. For borrowers having subscribed to MT54x Settlement Confirmation on Securities Lending and Borrowing Accounts, the below additional fields are part of MT54x within the Reference section:

“Common reference” reflects External Loan Agreement ID preceded by:

  • O if the market instruction was generated in relation to loan opening; or
  • R if the market instruction was generated in relation to loan reimbursement.
