Xemac: Upgrade for the November Release - update

Clearstream Banking AG1 will implement the Xemac® version 5.11 with the release on

18 November 2019

Impact on customers

All participating customers must install Xemac version 5.11 by latest 18 November 2019. From this point on, access to Xemac® version 5.10 will no longer be possible.

Technical enhancements

The new version of the Xemac Client can be operated besides Java Runtime Environment (JRE – 32bit / 64bit version) as today also with OpenJDK (64bit version only). Both JRE and OpenJDK will be supported in parallel and released with the same frequency. There will be no functional differences between the two Java frameworks.

The software for Xemac version 5.11 is available for download from the Clearstream website under Xemac technical specifications for Premium users. The Xemac Installation Manual available on the same webpage is also updated.

Functional enhancements

The new version offers the following functional enhancements:

  • New splash screen upon logon
    After logon in Xemac, an additional screen is displayed which informs about data security and confidentiality within the application.
  • Changes to the calculation period for Xemac fees
    The calculation period for Xemac fees (currently from the 21st of the current month to the 20th of the following month) will be aligned with the general Clearstream Billing period from 1 December 2019. For the transition, the following periods will be billed:
    Until October 2019 (inclusive): 21 September - 20 October
    One-time change in November 2019:21 October - 30 November
    From December 2019 until ultimo: 1 December - 31 December

    The amounts are billed today and in the future via the monthly CBF invoice.

  • Changes to screen Client Reference
    In the screen Client Reference, section “Cash”, the entry of single RTGS accounts or single Creation Cash accounts will be enabled.
