Ukraine: Market information update VI
Note: This Announcement, originally published on 19 May 2022, updated on 30 May 2022, 24 June 2022, 6 July 2022 and 29 July 2022 has been further updated to inform customers that restrictions on securities circulation will be lifted.
Clearstream Banking1 informs customers that effective
immediately
the National Securities and Stock Market Commission together with the National Bank of Ukraine are lifting all restrictions on securities circulation, which were introduced in February 2022.
Operations with Russian and Belarusian counterparties are still restricted.
Except for the above mentioned case, the Ukrainian market will be opened for account opening and securities settlement with all available instruments in the market.
Please be reminded that only the bonds denominated in Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) can settle cross-border free of payment via the Clearstream Banking link.
Additionally, please note that currency control restrictions at this point remain in place and that the domestic fixed income and the UAH foreign exchange markets remain closed until further notice.
Clearstream Banking reminds customers that withdrawal of funds is allowed under certain circumstances to re-align to a local correspondent account or to re-invest into new bonds during the auctions defined by the Ministry of Finance. Please refer Cash services - Ukraine.
Impact on customers
Cross-border (free of payment) and internal settlement (against payment or free of payment) in Clearstream Banking is possible for any ISINs denominated in UAH issued by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine that are eligible in Clearstream Banking.
