Note: This announcement, originally published on 1 April 2021, has been updated to provide customers with information on the implementation of the paper invoice fee and Electronic Invoice Distribution. Changes have been highlighted.

Clearstream Banking AG1 would like to inform customers, with regard to the Electronic Invoice Distribution service and introduction of Electronic Dunning Letter Distribution, that the introduction of the new fee will be postponed

until further notice

Impact on customers

From the effective date, that will be announced in advance, original invoices will be sent to customers, by default, as a PDF attachment through email and not as a hard copy via post. Additionally, as of that date, a paper invoice fee of EUR 5 will be introduced for all customer accounts that would like to continue receiving invoices in paper form. Copies of the invoices as well as billing reports and other attachments continue to be available on the Billing Portal page for registered users.

Additionally, as of 1 July 2021, all dunning letters will be sent as PDF attachments via email to those customers that are already registered for the Electronic Invoice Distribution service.

In order for invoices and dunning letters to be received via email as PDF attachments, customers should provide their invoice recipient email address by signing the form for subscription to Electronic Invoice Distribution.

The original, completed and duly signed Electronic Invoice Distribution form must be sent to the following address:

Clearstream Banking AG
Attn: Account Administration Frankfurt (OSM)
Mergenthalerallee 61
D-65760 Eschborn

As an alternative to this form, customers can apply for the Electronic Invoice Distribution service via free-format SWIFT message MT599 to DAKVDEFFXXX with the following information:

  • Attention: OSM Unit;
  • Registered Company name (in full);
  • Name of branch (if applicable);
  • Address, city, postcode and country;
  • Main account number OR VAT number;
  • Email address of the invoice recipient.

In addition, customers need to confirm in the SWIFT message if:

  • The request applies to all existing accounts of the Company at CBF at the date hereof ________ (DD.MM.YYYY); OR
  • The request applies only to the following account numbers of the Company at CBF __________ (please list the account numbers).

On 17 December 2018, Clearstream Banking implemented TLS (Transport Layer Security) for the encryption of email communications, ensuring a safe distribution of the Clearstream Banking invoices as well as other email communication. Unencrypted email traffic poses a threat to Clearstream Banking’s business and the market. With the implementation of mandatory email encryption, Clearstream Banking aims to prevent unauthorised disclosure of information as well as any data loss.

To read Clearstream Banking’s emails seamlessly customers must fulfil the necessary technical requirements. For information on the protection of email communication via TLS, customers should refer to Announcement C18031.
