Effective
11 May 2015
Clearstream Banking1 will implement improvements to cash statements and reports related to transactions of the Alternative Funds Services (AFS). This release changes how references of the AFS transactions are quoted in the cash statements and reports, in order to simplify the reconciliation processing for customers.
MT900/910 Confirmation of Debit/Credit reports
In field :20: Transaction Reference Number, the payment reference of Clearstream Banking is specified. It is composed of the letter “V”, the Clearstream Funds Net (CFN) financial instrument identifier (the CFN ID), a hyphen and an alphanumeric reference code.
Example
:20:V123456-R789T2
The second line of field :72: Sender to Receiver Information is composed of the prefix “/REC/”, the customer’s own order reference, a space, the ISIN, another space and the name of the financial instrument and any other narrative. This information will be wrapped over the subsequent lines that are prefixed by “//”. If the information uses four lines or less, a last line with the prefix “/RELA/” is used to repeat the customer’s own order reference.
Example
:72:/PDAT/20150511070000
/REC/Abc987def654 LU0123456789 Gran
//d Central Fund
/RELA/Abc987def654
MT940/950 Money Suspense/Statement reports
In field :61: Statement Line, the last two subfields have the following content:
- Subfield 8 quotes the payment reference of Clearstream Banking as defined in field :20: in the MT900/910 above; and
- Subfield 9 is not prefixed by a forward slash (“/”) and composed of the customer’s own order reference, a space, the ISIN, another space and as much as possible of the name of the financial instrument that fits within the full field length of 35 characters, with all alphabetical characters reported in UPPER case.
Example
:61:150511 0511D 256250,00 FVES NONREF// V123456-R789T2
ABC987DEF654 LU0123456789 GRAND CEN
Note: For payments where no customer’s own order reference exists, for example corporate actions, Clearstream Banking’s payment reference is used in place of the customer’s own order reference.
