Cross-border Payments and Reporting (CBPR+): Swift ISO 20022 Standards - Additional information

This version supersedes Announcement F25018.

Further to Announcement F25018, Clearstream Fund Centre (CFCL)¹ provides clients with an update on the use of specific reference fields in ISO 20022 messages.

To improve the reconciliation and reporting of cash messages, CFCL highly recommends that clients use the following fields to uniquely link a Notice to Receive (camt.057) with the corresponding payment:

• End-to-End ID
• UETR (Unique End-to-end Transaction Reference)

As an update to Announcement F25018 and to ensure a more client-friendly approach, CFCL confirms that these fields will not become mandatory after 14 March 2026 and will remain optional.

While the use of these fields is optional, CFCL strongly encourages clients to use them to unlock significant processing benefits. By providing a unique reference in the End-to-End ID or UETR fields, clients' transactions can be processed automatically in a timely manner. Clients should ensure, that the reference in the pre-advice message matches the one in the final payment allowing the matching of both messages to have faster reconciliation and credit of your cash payments.

To ensure a smooth process, clients should avoid using generic references like “NONREF”, as this will prevent automated processing and results in potential delays in processing.

Clients who have already implemented these fields based on earlier communication do not need to revert any changes.
