Building data as a growth driver

07.03.2024

Data solutions have been going through a transformative journey. Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics now play a significant role across Clearstream, whether it’s in product development, risk management, operational efficiency, fraud detection or client service.

We reached a key milestone in 2023, building our data infrastructure and strengthening our position as a data-conscious organisation. Key highlights include alignment with Data Mesh principles, the implementation of real-time reporting through the Kafka platform, and the launch of a range of cutting-edge data products that both optimise internal processes and enhance client experience.

Driving growth through data continues with a focus on 3 key areas:

  1. Accelerating settlement activities and avoiding penalties. In the context of current market discussions on shortening the settlement cycle to  T+1, we will build on our settlement efficiency and settlement prediction tools. The Settlement Dashboard version 2 will  go live in H1 with  a new layout, increased timespan, and more granular information, whilst retaining efficiency benchmarking and key behaviour insights that our clients enjoyed in 2023.
  2. Expanding collateral and lending capabilities to support clients with portfolio optimisation and asset monetisation opportunities. Our Collateral Mapper dashboard will be expanded to include fixed income, whilst collateral insights, client benchmarking and marriage broking capabilities will provide greater inventory insights and market comparisons. Other new products to be delivered this year will help clients to better understand credit line usage and view lending and borrowing activities.
  3. Enhancing client experience by building the right data and connectivity products. Through powerful analytics and sensible use of artificial intelligence, we enable clients to turn information into actionable insights, such as self-service query management as part of our premium Xact Connectivity services. Our API offering will expand in parallel providing omni-channel connectivity and improved query resolution. Data governance efforts and ISO 20022 activities underpin our commitment to provide clients with accurate, complete, and high-quality actionable data.

There is a lot to achieve in 2024 and we very much look forward to collaborating with our clients.
