China: Change of SWIFT BIC for offshore Chinese Renminbi via Bank of China Frankfurt
Clearstream Banking1 informs customers of the change of SWIFT BIC for Chinese Renminbi (CNY) cash instructions via Bank of China Frankfurt as Cash Correspondent Bank.
Effective
19 November 2018
the new SWIFT BIC BKCHDEFFCLR will be used as the official SWIFT BIC for Bank of China Frankfurt. The adoption of the new SWIFT BIC was announced by Bank of China Frankfurt who acts as one of Clearstream Banking’s offshore Chinese Renminbi Clearing Banks, based in Germany.
Impact on customers
Starting from 19 November 2018, customers must use the new SWIFT BIC BKCHDEFFCLR for their cash related instructions, cash instructions with the wrong SWIFT BIC will be rejected.
All cash related instructions that use the former SWIFT BIC, BKCHDEFFXXX, sent by 16 November 2018 with value date on the 19 November 2018 and later, will remain valid.
