Modification of MT536 “Statement of Transactions” – End of interim phase

28.02.2019

Clearstream Banking AG, Frankfurt1 informs customers that the interim phase for the decommissioning of the label “/CUST” in the MT536 “Statement of Transactions” will end on

Monday, 13 May 2019

Background

In Announcement D17044, CBF informed about the enhancement of the MT536 “Statement of Transactions” related to the depository information. Since November 2017, in “Optional Subsequence B1a2 Transaction Details” the “TAG 94B Place of Safekeeping” is available and can be used on customer demand.

In line with the SWIFT format for ISO 15022 messages, CBF uses the following scheme:

  • TAG: 94
  • Option: B
  • Format: SAFE/DAKV/4!a/4!a2!a2!c[3!c]

Example: 94B::SAFE/DAKV/COLL/DAKVDEFFXXX

Currently, the MT536 contains the depository information twice. This detail is also provided within the “TAG 70E::TRDE (Transaction Details Narrative)” using the label “/CUST”. The latest CBF deployment approach defines that this label will be decommissioned on 13 May 2019.

Potential customer impact

In Announcement D17044, CBF requested customers to be prepared for the decommissioning of the label “/CUST” in November 2018. Based on customer feedback, the interim phase was extended and will end in May 2019.

Customers still using the label “/CUST” in “TAG 70E” are requested to be ready for the rollout on 13 May 2019. The interim period can no longer be extended.

Since the depository information in “TAG 94B Place of Safekeeping” is already available, customers can implement their changes immediately and deploy their updated software to production.

Customer simulation

From 23 April to 10 May 2019, simulation activities will be supported by CBF. During this testing window, the latest version of the MT536 “Statement of Transactions” can be used for validation.

This testing is optional and requires no dedicated CBF test scenario. Customers intending to participate in the CBF customer simulation environment (IMS23) should consider a verification of the existing connectivity settings before starting their test activities.

Contact

Please contact our Connectivity Support teams for questions regarding the technical infrastructure and connectivity settings. Particular questions related to the decommissioning procedure of the label “/CUST” will be routed to the experts of the T2S Settlement Functionality team.
