Automated file exchange for VestimaPRIME and non-customer transfer agents

Following the Notification to Transfer Agents and Registrars in relation to CSDR requirements, Clearstream Banking1 would like to remind transfer agents or registrars to cooperate with Clearstream Banking in a way that allows it to comply with CSDR reconciliation requirements.

In addition to this notification, Clearstream Banking notifies VestimaPRIME transfer agents and non-customer transfer agents with which Clearstream Banking has engaged in the registration of customer positions, of the following updates available to comply with CSDR reconciliation requirements.

New channel for transfer agents to report holdings

Clearstream Banking provides a secure way of transferring reports to agents through Xact File Transfer via Internet. Xact File Transfer is available immediately for transfer agents that need to send position statements to Clearstream Banking (see Announcement A19141).

From 27 April 2020:

  • Non-customer transfer agents can have access to Xact File Transfer. For any assistance, please contact CSDRReporting@clearstream.com;
  • Non-customer transfer agents can send statements for reconciliation of investment fund positions via Xact File Transfer in CSV format and will receive reconciliation results back from Xact File Transfer;
  • VestimaPRIME transfer agents can send statements for reconciliation of investment fund positions via Xact File Transfer in CSV format and will receive reconciliation results through this channel.

Please find all the specifications and guidelines for the CSV file attached below.

From 11 May 2020, VestimaPRIME transfer agents will receive new reports including the following:

Reconciliation Status

  • Automatic open item report with no open items if there is no positional difference;
  • Automatic open item report with open items if there is a positional difference.

This report will be sent at the end of each reconciliation or NAV cycle.

Overdue Statement Reminder

An Overdue Statement Reminder is sent after the statement due date has passed and the MT535 (Statement of Holdings) has not been received from the transfer agent.
