Colombia: Tax law 1943 of 2018 has been revoked
Further to our Taxflash T19010, the Constitutional Court of Colombia, on 16 October 2019, declared the Law 1943 of 2018 as unconstitutional as of 1 January 2020.
The Congress has until 31 December 2019 to issue a new law otherwise the regulations that were modified or derogated by Law 1943 of 2018 will be valid as of 1 January 2020.
The Ministry of Finance presented before the Congress a new project Law on 22 October 2019 aiming at ratifying the disposition of the tax Law 1943 of 2019.
Ratification of the aforementioned law is expected before the end of the year.
