Withholding tax services
Clearstream Banking does currently not offer any tax services in Russia due to sanctions.
Beneficial owners may, in certain cases, still be eligible to obtain a reduced withholding tax rate on income payments distributed from Russian securities and are asked to submit the relevant documents directly to the Russian National Settlement Depository (NSD).
Clients holding Russian securities, are requested to refer to the income notification sent by Clearstream Banking per income event and the Clearstream Banking announcements A23022 and A22109 in order to obtain the complete procedure for receiving the income proceeds and any applicable tax certification requirements for Russian securities.
Clearstream Banking is however not involved in the tax process and any questions related to tax services and the applicable tax certification requirements should be addressed directly to NSD: ops@nsd.ru.
