Colombia: New domestic link

Clearstream Banking1 informs customers that it will implement a domestic link to Colombia on

19 November 2018

with a settlement against payment custody link via BNP Paribas Securities Services Sociedad Fiduciaria S.A, Bogotá adding the Colombian Peso (COP) as a full settlement currency.

This new domestic link will provide settlement and custody services in a segregated account structure at beneficiary level for Colombian equities and corporate debt deposited with Deceval, and government debt deposited with DCV, acting as the market’s central securities depositories (CSD).

The link opening forms part of Clearstream Banking’s expansion of its custody network and aims to help foster foreign investor access to the local market.

Impact on customers

Clearstream Banking customers will be able to use the following services:

  • Segregation of beneficiary accounts at custodian/CSD level;
  • External free of payment and against payment settlement in COP;
  • Full asset and tax servicing.
